What's Wrong With This Picture?

iPod Shuffle attached to a Bose Acoustic Wave Music System

I snapped this photo at home.  It reminds me of using the Energizer Bunny to run a nuclear power plant.  The price of convenience inconvenience is diminished sound quality.

This reminds me of a leading article in a Polish audio engineering magazine that mentioned statistics indicating that the bulk of a hit single's sales were ringtones. The article posed an intersting question: why bother with great production, if the song's gonna be played for fifteen seconds on a mobile phone speaker. :)
